Muslin
Muslin is the American term for a test garment sewn in inexpensive fabric to check fit — what British and European workrooms call a toile.
The word names both the cloth and the garment made from it, which is occasionally confusing in a tech pack. Context usually settles it: you sew a muslin, you buy muslin.
